Deutsche Bank has made two leadership appointments to its fintech innovation team. Elly Hardwick will become head of innovation for the bank, while Philip Milne has been named chief technology officer (CTO) for innovation.
Hardwick will lead the bank’s innovation activities and manage the Deutsche Bank Labs globally from her base in London. Prior to that, she worked for Morgan Stanley.
In his new role as CTO for innovation, based in Palo Alto, Calif., Milne will act as an interface between the Deutsche Bank Labs and the bank’s wider technology organization. He has worked extensively in the financial and technology sectors in London and California, most recently as CEO and founder of a virtual reality startup in Silicon Valley. He was a member of the founding teams that created the Android platform at Google and the Java platform at Sun Microsystems.
